Tips and Tricks

So I started buying those little paint buckets that cost about $3 each to carry paint with while working around my furniture. And yes they are handy, but pricey! I decided recycled pie pans will work just as well and are easier on our environment... (and cheaper! :))

If you're like me, you do not have a garage or a workbench or a backyard or any special designated place that screams, "Do your projects here!!" ... Life is all about creating your own opportunities and in this case.. SPACE. I am literally using my sons bedroom as my work space. We live in a small 2 bedroom apartment and since he NEVER sleeps in his own room (always been in mine) I made the executive decision to take it over... Anyway I found that paint was pooling at the bottom of my freshly painted furniture and leaving an ugly finish. It was doing this because the weight of the furniture would drop down into the soft carpet and drop cloth and "hug" the legs or bottom edge of the piece I was working on.. My genius mother suggested that I buy a thin piece of wood paneling to hold it up. It works like a dream!! I paid about $9 for a 5'x8' piece and they even cut it in half for me so I could fit it into my little SUV... No excuses everyone! Where there is a will there is a way!! :)
